The Catalan coast has a Mediterranean climate, temperate and with mild temperatures all year round with many sunny days. Precipitations (1000 mm is Barcelona’s annual average) mainly take place between September and November, the period of the so-called “cold drops” (gota fria), with sudden showers and torrential rain that can cause inundations.
Best times of the year to see the city
The best time of year to see Barcelona is from the end of April to the whole of June, when the weather is tepid and serene.
August is in any case a fun month, with one of the biggest celebrations being the Festa Major de Gràcia.
